I put a cockroach on a scanner to see whether I could visualize its movement in a compelling way. These are 15 different scans of the same bug. During these underbelly action shots, the scanner imaged the roach’s movement as he (she?) moved across the scanner glass. The scanner recorded the wake of roach’s movement with squiggly lines, illustrating the bug’s motion at the moment of the scan.
